Innovatum in the Press
“The inspiration for iROBAR derived from recent customer projects in which we encountered many of the same label design and printing limitations I have seen and heard about since first designing AS/400 labels more than 20 years ago,” said Ardi Batmanghelidj, President of Innovatum. “We have been spoiled by the amazing capabilities of BarTender, the design and print engine for ROBAR, and I am delighted to bring it to the IBM i environment.”
While BarTender is in use at many IBM i shops, the iROBAR system provides a seamless link between the worlds of Windows and IBM i. It provides the necessary infrastructure and controls to minimize custom programming and provide for an infinitely scalable and robust solution. Using simplified API replacements, a number of new iROBAR customers have rapidly upgraded from IBM i legacy labeling solutions and are already enjoying the benefits.

Sugar Hill, GA – May 17th, 2011 – The International Society for Pharmaceutical Engineering (ISPE) – the world’s largest, not-for-profit association dedicated to the pharmaceutical industry, and publisher of the GAMP® good practice guides and Pharmaceutical Engineering magazine – recently selected an article submitted by Innovatum, Inc., a leading provider of enterprise compliance software and services to the Life Sciences, for publication in the May/June issue of Pharmaceutical Engineering focused on “Green Pharma.”
The article, titled “Labeling Pharma ‘Green,’” provides a thorough summary of the potential for an Electronic/Enterprise Label Management System (ELMS) to reduce paper & label stock consumption; improve operational & manufacturing efficiencies; accelerate time-to-market, comply with FDA & international labeling regulations (e.g. 21 CFR Part 11, cGMP etc); and deliver a rapid return on investment (ROI) to pharmaceutical manufacturers. It also includes tools and tips to help pharmaceutical manufacturers analyze and quantify the costs associated with their existing labeling system(s) and SOPs in order to determine if an ELMS warrants further consideration.
Innovatum Vice President of Operations and long-time ISPE member, Dana Buker, acted as lead author on the article; drawing on his 20+ years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry. “Innovatum is honored to share the value of our experience with ISPE members in Pharmaceutical Engineering,” said Buker. The May/June issue is scheduled for publication on May 20th, 2011, but an advance copy of “Labeling Pharma ‘Green’” is available here.
“These new web-based capabilities, in concert with our existing web-based workflow module, provide the most robust suite of thin-client applications available for regulated labeling operations in the Life Sciences,” said Ardi Batmanghelidj, President of Innovatum. “Not only do they enable greater visibility and collaboration among different sites and business units, but they also provide the flexibility to involve external business partners in regulated labeling operations via the web,” said Batmanghelidj.
The web-based printing module allows production users to print approved labels while merging production related data from a central ERP or MRP system. It supports more than 1,900 models of bar code and RFID label printers from 65 different manufacturers. The web-based reporting module enables SQL-based reports on all label system activity stored within ROBAR’s comprehensive system audit log. It can also export reports to Excel for internal distribution and analysis.

Sugar Hill, GA - Innovatum, Inc. today announces that it has added FTP Exit Point Management to DataThread, its IBM i Audit and Workflow system. This enhancement is now generally available to existing customers and will be included in the upcoming release of DataThread Version 4 slated for release Q1 of 2011.
Innovatum’s DataThread is an audit tool that dynamically monitors IBM i activity that is of internal or regulatory compliance significance, while discarding millions of normal and routine transactions. “With the addition of Exit Point management and the ability to prevent inappropriate activity, we have moved beyond just auditing” said Ardi Batmanghelidj, President of Innovatum. "Managing FTP exit points in a data centric manner, is certainly one of the most requested enhancements we are excited to deliver to System i users. Our customers especially like the discovery mode which allows them to easily see and analyze FTP access, and the consequent data activity on our inquiries and reports."
"Having the ability to see consolidated activity allows our clients to make informed adjustments to existing security settings." says Ron Kohlhorst, Vice President of Development. " Most activity is legitimate business, but being able actually see it and act on any aberrations provides for accurate assurance controls."
An automated review and approval process allows administrators to readily configure DataThread to restrict FTP activity by day and time, user id, IP address and other parameters which are key to many regulations being enforced by auditors.
