System Audit Journal Monitoring powered by DataThread for IBM i

DataThread ™ can be used with any AS/400 or iSeries system. It does not require a single change to your existing applications. Utilizing extensive system audit functions of the AS/400 and iSeries DataThread ™ will detect and capture additions to the system audit journal. Since the vast majority of journal entries do not require tracking, you can set criteria such as entry types (i.e. type SV - System Value Changed) that will be captured. Since the vast majority of data in the journal record do not require tracking, only selected fields configured by the system administrator, will be retained. You capture only the fields you are interested in. So, to use system audit journal tracking you:

1. Pick the system audit journal (IDTAUD)

2. Pick your fields – Select all, just one or a list of fields to watch.

3. Activate the configuration and you’re done!

If you want, in addition you can add a workflow, that will:

Set record level conditions (i.e. Record added, updated, deleted, read)
Set field level conditions (i.e. EQ, GT, LT, or GT 10%, LT $5000.)
Notify a person or group (cascading/escalating)(email, pager, etc.)
  Require an electronic signature(s) (cascading)
Send (publish) the capture to a data queue
  Call a program
  Submit a job

Each capture contains:

  File
  Library
  Member
Unique Transaction Number (powerful auditor feature)
  Date/Time
Program Name/Method (ODBC, SQL, DFU, etc.)
  Action (update, add, delete, read)
  User Profile and description(user’s name)
  Electronic signature (if required)
Signature comment (if required or entered)
Reason code (user defined, i.e. APP, REJ, HLD etc.)
Fields of the capture (changed values highlighted in red)
