Database Monitoring powered by DataThread for IBM i
DataThread ™ can be used with any AS/400 or iSeries application. It does not require a single change to your existing applications. Utilizing extensive database management functions of the AS/400 native database, DB2, DataThread ™ will detect and capture changes to any database record. Since the vast majority of data elements in a database do not require tracking, only selected fields configured by the system administrator, will be retained. So, to use database tracking you:
1. Pick your file – Select file, library to watch.
2. Pick your fields – Select all, just one or a list of fields to watch.
3. Activate the configuration and you’re done!
If you want, in addition you can add a workflow which can:
| Set record level conditions (i.e. Record added, updated, deleted, read) | ||
| Set field level conditions (i.e. EQ, GT, LT, or GT 10%, LT $5000.) | ||
| Notify a person or group (cascading/escalating)(email, pager, etc.) | ||
| Require an electronic signature(s) (cascading) | ||
| Send (publish) the capture to a data queue | ||
| Call a program | ||
| Submit a job |
Each capture contains:
| File | ||
| Library | ||
| Member | ||
| Unique Transaction Number (powerful auditor feature) | ||
| Date/Time | ||
| Program Name/Method (ODBC, SQL, DFU, etc.) | ||
| Action (update, add, delete, read) | ||
| User Profile and description(user’s name) | ||
| Electronic signature (if required) | ||
| Signature comment (if required or entered) | ||
| Reason code (user defined, i.e. APP, REJ, HLD etc.) | ||
| Fields of the capture (changed values highlighted in red) |
